What is a Sensor Network?

Example of a Sensor Network dundee has been experimenting with

To support integrated home care, the system must have the ability to known what is happening in the home environment so that it can respond to changes that occur.

The University Of Dundee has been developing a network of sensor devices that provide different forms of feedback to the system depending on what they detect. Through the use of overlapping sensor coverage, extremely accurate data can be compiled on a user's day-to-day life, allowing the system to monitor the user discreetly and offer assistance or advice when needed.

On the right is an example of a typical Sensor Network that the University Of Dundee has been evaluating. This particular example is based on a real sensor network which has been integrated into a home for testing purposes.
