1st Nov 2009 MATCH Invites New Members MATCH has now entered a new phase in which its work is being extended to a broader base of participants, as well as strengthening links between technologies for social and health care. See the information about becoming a member.
27th Oct 2009 MATCH at Assisted Living Workshop MATCH was well represented at a workshop on Assisted Living organised by the Scottish Science Advisory Council. Project member Ken Turner gave a talk at the event about assisted living research.
1st Oct 2009 MultiMemoHome Starts The MultiMemoHome project has started, and will run for 3.5 years. This project is a direct development from work on MATCH. It will investigate the design, implementation and evaluation of multimodal/multisensory reminders in a home context.
1st Oct 2009 Presentation at Independent Assisted Living Workshop Project members Steve Brewster and Marilyn McGee-Lennon gave an invited talk at a workshop on Independent Assisted Living about MATCH and the new MultiMemoHome project.
3rd Jul 2009 Presentation at Smart Homes and Health and Telematics Conference Project member Feng Wang gave a talk about an ontology-based actuator framework at the International Conference on Smart Homes and Health and Telematics in Tours.
5th Jun 2009 Summer School on Home Care Systems The MATCH project, with support from SICSA (Scottish Informatics and Computer Science Alliance) ran a successful summer school. 26 students attended, with good international participation. Formal lectures were given by MATCH staff and a range of invited international speakers.
8th May 2009 New MultiMemoHome Project Steve Brewster and Steve Renals (with other partners) have been awarded £785k from EPSRC for the new MultiMemoHome project on multimodal reminders within the home. This will continue and extend the foundational work on multimodal interfaces for MATCH.
20th Apr 2009 Presentation at Healthy Ageing Workshop Project member Ken Turner gave a talk about policy-based management of home care at the workshop on Client-Centred Technology for Healthy Ageing in York.

4th Mar 2009 MATCH at Glasgow Science Centre MATCH now has a long-term exhibit at the Glasgow Science Centre, focusing on what telecare means for users. The exhibit features a game developed by Claire Maternaghan to illustrate telecare (see photo album, and posters describing the MATCH aims and technologies). PDF

16th Jan 2008 MATCH Technology Tutorial With contributions from the partner Universities, Marc Esson and Ken Turner have created a technology tutorial to explain the work of MATCH.
8th Nov 2007 Chancellor refers to MATCH The Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon. Alistair Darling MP, recently referred to MATCH in a speech at the University of Stirling. "[You] are translating your academic research into commercial opportunities and jobs for Stirling and Scotland. For example, the MATCH partnership with leading companies on the development and application of assistive technology to help those with disabilities cope with everyday life." 2nd Apr 2007 Presentation at INCLUDE Conference Marilyn McGee-Lennon presented her work on Including Stakeholders on the Design of Homecare at the INCLUDE conference in London. This work argues that more accurate and useful requirements are obtained by involving the multiple stakeholders.

13th Jun 2006 MATCH at BioDevice Partnering Event The MATCH project was represented at the BioDevice Partnering event in Edinburgh. This is a forum to promote interdisciplinary collaboration in the medical device industry.
1st Jun 2006 MATCH addresses Software Engineering Challenges Workshop Project members Marilyn McGee-Lennon and Phil Gray (University of Glasgow) presented a paper on Addressing Challenges of Stakeholder Conflict in the Development of Homecare Systems at the workhop on Software Engineering Challenges for Ubiquitous Computing. The theme was how to develop software systems for the increasingly pervasive applications of computing.
4th May 2006 MATCH at Innovation in Health and Social Care Delivery Conference Project members recently contributed to a conference on Innovation in Health and Social Care Delivery. The work of the project was exhibited through a poster that gives a high-level overview of MATCH: view as image, or view as PDF. PDF
10th Apr 2006 Hexawrite System Demonstrated at CeBIT The work of project members was recently exhibited at CeBIT, a leading trade show in Germany. A demonstration was also given on Channel 5's Gadget Show. The Hexawrite prototype was developed in a collaboration between the Fraunhofer FIRST Research institute and MATCH members at the University of Glasgow (John Williamson and Roderick Murray-Smith) in a project funded by the PASCAL European research network.
29th Aug 2005 New Technologies for Care at Home The project issued its first press release on the subject of New Technologies for Care at Home to announce the launch of this four-year project from 1st November 2005. PDF
