Introduction

is a program used to generate a list of references (bibliography) from one or more bibliographic database files. is quite involved, and although it may not seem worthwhile using it if you are citing only one or two references - it is useful for keeping sources centrally. Once you have started using it is simple to maintain your list of references and to keep a note of books or articles that you have read in order to cite them in future documents.

If you would prefer to create your own bibliography, provides an environment called thebibliography which is similar to the itemize environment. This is described in some detail in section .
