Getting to Stirling

Stirling is linked to Scotland’s motorway and trunk road network including the M9/A9 to Edinburgh, Perth and Inverness and the M80 to Glasgow. Travelling distances to Edinburgh Airport is 40 minutes (49 km), and to Glasgow Airport is 45 minutes (57 km).
By Coach
There is an hourly non-stop coach service from Glasgow and Edinburgh, taking 40 minutes and 1 hour respectively, as well as regular bus services to the Scottish cities and towns like St Andrews and Perth. The modern bus station which has a café and left luggage lockers is open Mon-Sat 06.30-22.00 Sun 10.00-18.00.

By Air
Most travellers arrive at Edinburgh, Glasgow or Glasgow Prestwick airports which all have branches of leading car hire operators and taxi services.
Edinburgh Airport – a 24 hour bus service, every 10 mins at peak times and 30 mins at night, leaves outside the terminal and stops at Haymarket Terrace for direct rail and bus services to Stirling. Journey time – 20 mins.
Glasgow Airport – a quarter hourly bus service taking around 25 mins leaves from outside the terminal and stops at Buchanan Street Bus Station for direct services to Stirling. Queen Street Railway Station is a five minute walk.
Glasgow Prestwick Airport – a half hour train service (hourly on Sundays) runs to Glasgow Central Station 06.00-23.08. The journey time is 45 mins. Queen Street Station, the terminus for Stirling trains is less than a ten minute walk. A free shuttle bus also links the two stations every ten minutes.
Staying in Stirling
You can choose to stay either on campus, where the conference will be held, or the city offers a large variety of hotels, BnB, and private accommodation nearby. Closest areas are Causewayhead and the lovely village of Bridge of Allan. These can be considered walking-distance locations. Regular bus lines connect the university campus to the city center and main locations.
Off-campus accommodation can be booked through the standard (on-line) channels.
On-campus accommodation consists of the Stirling Court Hotel and the Guest Accommodation. Both are recently renewed structures, the former a proper hotel, the latter reasonably priced four star graded contemporary guest accommodation. On campus accomodation can be booked at these daily rates:
