BICS 2004: After the conference

Updated 23 November 2004: I have put the CD on the web!

Afterthoughts

Well, it's over. I hope that all the delegates had a good time, and found it a useful conference. We decided to keep the web site, and have put up the tutorials and some of the plenaries, as well as retaining the programme. If you need it, here's the old local page.

There were in all 87 delegates. Their geographical distribution was:

UK 37, Japan 12, Germany 11, Italy 4, France 4, Spain 4, USA 4, Canada 3, Switzerland 2, and 1 from India, Australia, Russia, Korea, Portugal, and Kuwait.

Tutorials

By popular request, we have put the abstracts and slides from the tutorials up on the web.

Plenaries

We have put up the plenaries: that is, all the abstracts, plus the slides for those for which we have slides. These were not on the CD. Enjoy! In addition this page contains the slides for Dr M Bishop's talk from the Consciousness debate.

Programme

Here is a link to the programme.

Book of abstracts

Here you may find the book of abstracts for all the talks. It's a .pdf.

CD of Proceedings

Yes, it's now on the web.

Journal of Neurocomputing Special Issue

Following the conclusion of the Conference, authors of selected papers (shortlisted by the BICS Publications Committee) have now been invited to submit extended versions of their papers for further consideration for the International Journal of Neurocomputing Special Issue on BICS'2004, which will be published in late 2005 (by Elsevier). For further details/update on the Special Issue, please contact the Publications Chair: ahu at cs.stir.ac.uk
