About the IAS Chapter
Aims
To promote a non-partisan cross-industry forum for the
pursuit of professional interests and exchange of experiences by those
involved in the application of systematic knowledge within the industry in
its broadest sense.
Objectives
- A regular programme
of meetings and presentations by members
- Emphasis on Decision
Support techniques and tools across industry
- Invitation to
external domain experts for lectures
- A programme of visits
to industrial sites of potential interest to members
- Liaison with other
professional societies/programmes
- Organisation of a
national / international seminar addressing the industry applications
and key developments at annual intervals
In contrast with the conventional professional bodies, IAS
is a broad based Society and caters for a wide spectrum of professional and
technical interests. By virtue of its broad appeal and membership, IAS offers
an unprecedented opportunity for exchange of knowledge and ideas within the
diversity of disciplines in industry. This in turn provides a significant
opportunity for increasing awareness and dissemination of ideas and best
practice in the service, commerce, science and technology sectors. The cross
fertilisation and dissemination of the state of the art knowledge is highly
likely to yield significant dividends in areas of health, safety,
environmental protection, commercial performance, welfare as well as the
traditional manufacturing, service, scientific and research aspects of the
industry.
Membership
Attendance and membership of the IEEE IAS Chapter is open
to all IEEE members and non-members. However, those not currently members of
IEEE and IAS cannot assume formal roles within the Chapter and their future
attendance at events and seminars may be subject to a charge.
For further details please contact the Chapter Chairman.
