Computing Science and Mathematics

BSc in Computing

What will you learn?

  hands-on experience

      teamwork in group assignments

You'll learn about Computing through lectures, tutorials and practical sessions. Lectures are for the whole class; tutorials and practicals are for small groups. Tutorials usually mean working through exercises or discussing points covered in lectures. Practicals, supervised work in computer laboratories, provide the opportunity for hands-on experience of applying the things you've learned.

Practical work is a key component of all degrees. It builds from small assignments in the early semesters, through team software engineering assignments in semesters 5 and 6, to the final individual honours project in semesters 7 and 8.

A mixture of assessment techniques are used to allow you to give your best. Assessment on individual courses is usually based on both examination and practical work.
