MSc in Advanced Computing
Introduction
The MSc in Advanced Computing is a one-year advanced programme delivering expert knowledge in specialist computing areas. The programme is designed to complement and extend a student’s previous education and experience. As such the programme offeres a high degree of flexibility. Specifically, in addition to the general programme of study towards the MSc Advanced Computing, the MSc also offers four variants to allow students to specialise in a particular topic depending on their specific interests. The offered variants are:
- Software Engineering,
- Computer Network Systems and Applications,
- Computer Games Technologies,
- Computing for eBusiness.
Thus students can chose the general programme, or select one of the variants. The variants require specific module choices in the second semester. Plase see the programme structure tab for details.
Applicants normally need to have successfully completed the equivalent of an Honours degree in Computing with good grades. Professional experience may also be taken into consideration.
Students may graduate with the Postgraduate Diploma after two taught semesters. Those who have reached Diploma standard may, if they wish, continue with a three-month project and dissertation to qualify for the award of the MSc degree. The subject of the dissertation usually covers the application of computers to a field of special interest to the student.
