DGM901 - Digital Media

This cross-disciplinary, freestanding Level 8 module is open to both Semester 4 and Semester 2 students.

It aims to illuminate not only the technical aspects of digital media but also its cultural impact and implications.

Students will be able to develop an understanding both of the nature of digital media and of their place in the wired world. Students will be able to manipulate some types of digital media, and to use them in an appropriate way within contexts such as internet applications. Students will also have gained a critical appreciation of the nature, capabilities, advantages and limitations of digital media within a broad and critical cultural context.

Most of the material for this course is to be found on WEBCT.

For further information, for now, here is the course handbook from the last running of the course in 2010. Please note that this is for guidance only: there will be some changes (in particular, locations and times are probably incorrect, and we have more recent software to work with this year!).
