This full credit module is generally taken in fourth semester Computing Science programmes. It is delivered through lectures, tutorials and practical sessions.

The main aim of the module is to give students a flavour of different styles of programming languages, underlining their similarities. Knowing the common features of languages gives a basis from which to learn new languages with ease. Students are expected to be familiar with programming in Java.
